Pre-launch
Voltara: stop doing the job twice.
Voltara is capture-first compliance software for UK solar PV installers. Capture the install as you work, and your EIC, MCS registration data and DNO application pack come from that one record. We’re opening to a small founding cohort of installers.
What Voltara does
Capture once, on site
Readings, photos, voice notes, serials and signatures go into one job record as you work.
Your EIC on the A4:2026 model forms
Built from the readings you captured, on the BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 model forms, ready to upload to your scheme’s portal.
MCS and DNO paperwork from the same record
Your MCS Installation Database data laid out to copy across, and your G98/G99/G100 route and DNO pack made clear before you apply.
See what’s missing before you leave site
Every job is checked against versioned, dated rules, with named blockers rather than scores. AI fills fields from what you capture; you can check and change every value.
In private pilot
Connected Inbox: Gmail and Outlook
DNOs, MCS and certification bodies reply by email, and those replies are evidence for your job. If you choose to connect your Gmail or Outlook mailbox, Voltara reads your Inbox only, with read-only access: new mail as it arrives, plus a look back over the last 90 days when you connect, which covers mail from our built-in list of known senders (the six GB network operator groups, Energy Networks Association’s Connect Direct service and MCS). It keeps the messages that look like that correspondence and files them against the right job, picking out the references they contain, such as a DNO application reference, an MPAN or a certificate number. You review each match and confirm before anything changes your compliance record. Voltara never sends, changes or deletes anything in your mailbox.
When our rule-based parsers can’t read a message from a known sender (a network operator, Connect Direct or MCS, or a sender on your account’s own list), a limited part of it is processed by Anthropic, our AI provider, to extract those references. If you ask Voltara to draft a reply, which you then send yourself, part of the message is also sent to Anthropic to write the draft. Your email is not used to train AI models, by Voltara or by Anthropic. Before you connect, Voltara shows you exactly what it will access and asks you to agree. You can disconnect at any time from Settings, which asks Google to revoke Voltara’s access (for Gmail) and deletes the inbox data Voltara stored, except emails you’ve added to a job as evidence. Our guide to managing and deleting your inbox data explains exactly what is deleted.
Voltara’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See our privacy policy for how your data is handled.
